Vodafone Egypt, the largest mobile network operator in Egypt, has achieved LEED Gold Green certification for the company’s main building in the Smart Village.

Vodafone became one of the first entities to obtain this certificate in the telecommunications sector, leveraging its application of LEED systems. This is in recognition of Vodafone’s effective role in applying environmental sustainability standards, with the aim of enabling Egyptian society to save energy and establish green cities.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a set of rating systems for evaluating the design and environmental performance of buildings, homes, and neighbourhoods and it is the most widely used green building classification system in the world today. It covers almost all types of construction. LEED provides a framework for healthy, efficient, carbon and cost-saving green buildings.
