The General Authority for Red Sea Ports, and a coalition, formed by Abu Dhabi Ports Group and Egyptian Group for Multipurpose Terminals (EGMPT), signed recently an agreement for the construction, management, and operation of the superstructure of the Multipurpose Terminal – Safaga Seaport.
The terminal spans over 81 hectares. Its quays extend a total of 1,000 meters with a depth of 17 meters and are equipped for the carriage of containers, all types of goods, solid bulk cargo, and bulk liquid.

The facility will be launched in 2024 and will facilitate external trade in southern Nile Valley, and in the Golden Triangle, stretching between the southern sections of Upper Egypt and the Red Sea.
The agreement provides for extending services to those vessels and operating a cruise ship line between Abu Dhabi, Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, and Aqaba.
