The statement from the Presidency of the Republic indicates that Daniel Chapo promoted Messias André Niposso to lieutenant general and appointed him to the new role. He had been serving as an inspector of the Mozambique Armed Defence Forces.
The Mozambican president made changes to the structure of the Defence and Security Forces, appointing Messias André Niposso as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Mozambique Armed Defence Forces (FADM).
The statement from the Presidency of the Republic indicates that Daniel Chapo promoted Messias André Niposso to lieutenant general and appointed him to the new role. He had been serving as an inspector of the Mozambique Armed Defence Forces.
In the same document, the Presidency indicates that, in a separate presidential order, the head of state promoted André Rafael Mahunguane to major general and appointed him Commander of the Army, a position previously held by Tiago Nampele.
In another presidential order, Tiago Nampele was appointed commander of the Mozambique Civic Service and Ezequiel Muianga inspector of the FADM, after dismissing him from the post of commander of the Mozambique Civic Service in another order.

In other presidential orders, Chapo promoted Elias Paulo Mataruca to brigadier general and appointed him director of the Logistics Department of the FADM General Staff, promoted Pedro Rufino Chaúque to brigadier general and appointed him director of the Finance Department of the FADM General Staff. Tomás Francisco João Mpõe was promoted to brigadier general and appointed chief of the Army General Staff.
