Morocco’s flag carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), has unveiled its ambitious plan to quadruple its fleet size by 2030, aiming to reach nearly 200 aircraft.  The expansion initiative comes as the airline recently launched a tender for new aircraft.

The airline’s rapid growth trajectory has positioned it as one of the largest carriers on the African continent, reports indicate.  With a current fleet of 50 planes, Royal Air Maroc has emerged as a key player in the region’s aviation sector.

However, fueled by Morocco’s flourishing tourism industry and the impending co-hosting of the 2030 World Cup, the airline is poised for exponential growth. The airline has already received a massive boost from Morocco’s robust tourism industry. The sector has experienced rapid growth in recent years, attracting approximately 14.5 million visitors annually.

Anticipated growth projections suggest that arrivals could reach 17.5 million by 2026, further underscoring the need for enhanced air transport infrastructure. As preparations for the 2030 World Cup gain momentum, Royal Air Maroc aims to bolster international connectivity to support the influx of travelers expected for the global event.
