Mahindra South Africa has officially launched the countdown to the second Fusion Fest, announcing that the celebrated festival will return on 7 March 2026 at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria. The confirmation revives an event that won widespread praise for its debut edition, noted for its fearless mix of music, art and fashion that captured the country’s creative spirit.
According to Rajesh Gupta, chief executive of Mahindra South Africa, Fusion Fest reflects the brand’s continued investment in youth culture and creative innovation. He described the festival as a platform that unites people through imagination and community, adding that the enthusiasm from last year’s audiences inspired the team to aim even higher for 2026.
Next year’s Fusion Fest will retain its hallmark structure of four collaborative fusion performances, each crafted to unite artists from contrasting musical backgrounds. Curators promise surprising artistic pairings and a strong emphasis on South Africa’s diverse sonic landscape.
Zoe Modiga will headline a musical narrative that begins in her birth year, 1994, drawing on influences ranging from Mafikizolo to Kurt Darren and Claire Johnston. Her set will reflect a generation shaped by cultural renewal and the optimism of the post-apartheid era.
Rap stars BLXKIE and Maglera Doe Boy will team up with the Tshwane Gospel Choir in a performance that shifts between gritty street storytelling and uplifting spiritual expression — a collaboration expected to deliver one of the night’s most moving moments.
A powerhouse ensemble of Naledi Aphiwe, Karen Zoid, Nomfundo Moh and Mariechan will celebrate the evolution of South African pop by reimagining songs that defined different eras, offering a journey through emotion, nostalgia and exuberance. Closing the fusion lineup, Zee Nxumalo, Focalistic and Daliwonga will merge amapiano, vocal storytelling and contemporary youth culture to create a performance that speaks to the energy and creativity of young South Africans today.

To build anticipation, Mahindra has already launched a national roadshow, which debuted at the University of Cape Town last month. The campaign continues in December at Durban’s Beach Marine Parade, where audiences will get an early taste of what awaits them in March.
