Thye 95-kms Shambe Hagemsa road will link western part of the Oroma and Amhara states. The construction will be completed in three and half years. A Chinese construction company-Luqiao Group Company- has been awarded the contract at a cost of 2 billion birr budget, which is given by OPEC and BADEA. Part of the resources would come from the Ethiopian government sources.

The Dembi-Mugi-Dola road construction project which will link Oromia with neighboring Gambella region, can lead to regional development. The road will have a significant impact on the socio-economic ties of not only the two regions but can connect with people in South Sudan.
