Kenya gets wheat from Ukraine to tie down shortages

Kenya received recently a largesse from war-torn Ukraine- a large quantity of wheat, as a humanitarian effort to address the severe drought the country is facing. Under this initiative, since November 2022, Ukraine delivered more than 140,000 tonnes of wheat to needy African Nations

Kenya received recently a largesse from war-torn Ukraine- a large quantity of wheat, as a humanitarian effort to address the severe drought the country is facing. Under this initiative, since November 2022, Ukraine delivered more than 140,000 tonnes of wheat to needy African Nations.

The latest shipment, which reached Kenyan shores recently was received by Kenya’s deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua, who termed the gesture as a great help to his country ravaged by severe drought and fallout of the Russian -Ukraine war.

As reported by www.trendsnafrica .com, the other day, Kenya was in the grip of an agitation spearheaded by the opposition party leader, Raila Odinga,  who lost narrowly to William Ruto. People were in the street to demonstrate against the creeping inflation and scarcity of essential goods.  Demonstrators threatened to continue with the agitation till the time the government rein in the situation.
