In a statement issued on September 6th,on the second anniversary of the former President Mugabe’s death, President Emmerson Mnangagwa vowed that the revolutionary land reforms initiated in the country by the late former President Robert Mugabe will never be reversed.
He praised the vision of the late leader for his firm stance challenging the powerful countries stating that Zimbabwe belonged to its citizens and that the destiny of the nation lied in their hands. He added that the late leader invoked the United Nations charter which asserted the sovereign equality of nations. He was clear with the British that the land question was not negotiable.
He underlined that under the second republic Zimbabwe will be focusing on land productivity to fuel rapid transformation of the economy and ensuring food security. He repeated his conviction that for Zimbabwe, land is the economy.
