President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia was on a visit to Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)

President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia was on a visit to Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The visit was aimed at consolidating trade ties between the two countries and to sort bilateral issues that affect smooth flow of two-way trade.
The president had taken time to discuss with his counterpart, Felix Tshiekedi who is also African Union Chairperson, various issues regarding the shared common border. Both countries have outstanding border disputes. President also explored the possibility of augmenting trade and investments between the two countries. An area that came up for discussion was the manufacturing of components for electric vehicles using minerals like copper.
