Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has started collecting road tolls and road service licenses at Kazungula and Chirundu one-stop border posts (OSBP). This follows the Government’s decision to reduce the number of agencies to six in border facilities.

This change in the collection of taxes is a part of the coordinated border management (CBM) model being followed by the Zambian government to simplify processes and procedures in the clearance of goods and persons at crossing points. Under the new model, only six border agencies will be required to operate at the border while others will be inland. As a follow-up of this decision, a few agencies were removed from the borders. They signed delegation agreements with those that will have a physical presence at the crossing points. The agencies that will remain at the border are ZRA, Immigration Department, Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency, Port Health, Department of Quarantine and Phyto-sanitary Services, and National Livestock Epidemiology Information Centre.
