President Hichilema pledged his commitment to root out corruption from the system in his interaction with the representatives of the Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) and said corruption was a cost to the milling business. He also referred to high taxes, which also enhanced cost of doing business.
Hichilema said there was a need to create an attractive environment for doing business through consultative processes and added that the environment for doing business should also be stable and consistent.
The President assured that among its administration’s primary objective was to put policies that would enable millers in the country to meet the country’s consumption requirement every year. He referred to the need for export without affecting the national food security.
