Virtual Pay gets a license to operate in Tanzania

After a successful two-year presence in Kenya since 2020, Payment service provider Virtual Pay has launched its services in Tanzania. The global payment solutions service provider has been granted license to operate in the country by the Bank of Tanzania.

Apart from Kenya, the service provider has a presence in Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), operating across a range of industries, including financial services, online retail and trading, hospitality and travel.

Speaking about its entry into Tanzania, Virtual Pay Group chief executive David Morema said that the company aspires to be one of the world’s leading global payment technology companies, by providing world-class payments solutions. Tanzania’s Information and Communication Technology Commission’s Director-General Dr Nkundwe Moses Mwasaga  said that the entry of Virtual Pay is expected to create  jobs and business opportunities for the Tanzanians.
