On Tuesday, Dbeibah announced the dissolution of Radaa at the same time as the dismantling of security bodies previously controlled by another powerful armed group, the SSA (Stability Support Authority), whose leader, Abdelghani “Gheniwa” el-Kikli, was killed Monday evening.
Violent clashes, which began overnight, pitted rival armed groups against each other in densely populated areas of Tripoli on Wednesday, May 14, leaving at least six dead.
The Radaa Force (“deterrence”) is not under the authority of the Prime Minister of the Tripoli government, Abdelhamid Dbeibah, while Brigade 444, attached to the Ministry of Defense, supports him.

While authorities did not provide any figures regarding the new clashes, the Libyan Red Crescent reported that it had recovered a body from a vehicle on a major avenue in the capital.
