President-elect Donald Trump has named Susie Wiles, as his White House chief of staff. She is the first woman to hold the influential role.

Wiles is widely credited for Trump’s well-executed campaign.  She largely avoids the spotlight. Her naming as the chief of staff is the first major decision as president-elect and one that could be a defining test of his incoming administration. Analysts say that Wiles doesn’t have federal government experience in the role, except for her close ties with the president-elect. They point out that Wiles can moderate to a great extent the impulsive decisions of Trump.
