·        Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) will hold the 13th U.S.-Africa Business Summit virtually on July 27-29. The summit aims to build sustainable partnerships and opportunities between key government and private sector decision-makers across America and the African continent

·        The US is exploring the possibilities for initiating new programs to support development in the ICT, technology, environment and energy sectors  and Opportunity Act (AGOA)

Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) will hold the 13th U.S.-Africa Business Summit virtually on July 27-29. The summit aims to build sustainable partnerships and opportunities between key government and private sector decision-makers across America and the African continent. The summit is likely to be attended by over 2,000 U.S. and African business executives and government leaders.

Admittedly, African countries,  to a great extent,  weathered the economic and health challenges better than expected,’ Formation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement – the largest free trade area ever created under the World Trade Organization- is another development that can give an impetus to the bilateral relations. In the given situation, both regions are looking at exploring more business opportunities across key sectors in Africa.

The U.S.-Africa Business Summit will feature senior U.S. Government officials since it will give them an opportunity to explain the Biden Administration’s priorities for Africa. The US is exploring the possibilities for initiating new programs to support development in the ICT, technology, environment  and energy sectors  and the Opportunity Act (AGOA).

African leaders will update participants on the latest developments in AfCFTA  and its positive spin offs.  There will also be focused sessions on doing business in some of Africa’s most dynamic markets and the proposed US –Kenya free trade zone. Health sector also would figure at this year’s meet particularly developing health infrastructure, vaccine policy, setting up vaccine manufacturing companies in Africa to meet local demands.
