The outgoing United States ambassador to Uganda, Deborah Malac called
for discussion on transition of the east African country since future
of  Uganda has to be discussed by all groups, especially the youth.
Underscoring the need for taking cognizance of the youth’s vision and
ideas, she said that many regimes fail to fathom the importance of
such steps, which leads to disastrous results.

The 65-year old Deborah Malac has been ambassador of US to Uganda
since September 2015. She also had served as US envoy to Liberia
between May 2012 and 2015. Generally known as a person with human
touch and having hands-on knowledge about Africa and its political,
social and economic dynamics, Malac would be retiring from diplomatic
service after 39 years once she demits the  office of the Ugandan
Ambassador of the US.
