The United Arab Emirates, UAE, has announced that with effect from August 5th, passengers on transit flights from Nigeria and Uganda can now enter UAE. However, direct flights from Nigeria and Uganda are not allowed.
In a statement by the National Emergency and Crisis Management Authority(NECMA) said passengers would be able to transit through its airports if they have negative PCR tests taken 72 hours before departure. Airports will allocate special lounges for transit passengers.
Some categories are excluded from this category .These include people with valid residency permits who have received full vaccination doses in the UAE, Medical personnel working in the country and those working in the educational sector in the country from the vaccinated and non-vaccinated categories. Students studying in the country, employees in federal and local government agencies, and patients completing treatment in the country, whether they are vaccinated or not, are also excluded.
