Tunisian President Kais Saied dismissed speculation about his health condition as mad reports spread by vested interests. The 65- year old president, who has been courting several controversies, did not appear in any of the public meetings for the last two weeks, triggering speculation that he might not be well. However, the main opposition coalition has asked for an explanation for the president’s absence from public meetings. Hard-hitting the opposition, Saied said that the speculation was malicious and created panic among the citizens. Since March 22, the president has not attended any public functions. This has sparked speculation about his health.
