(3 Minutes Read)

The Ministry reported that the Tunisian packaging industry now includes more than 250 active companies, over 100 of which hold international compliance certifications. The sector has generated more than 25,000 direct jobs and continues to grow at an annual rate of more than 10%.

As for the printing industry, it employs roughly 7,000 people across nearly 120 companies. The Ministry commended the contributions of all sector stakeholders—particularly the Technical Center for Packaging and Conditioning, viewed as a strategic partner in advancing the packaging field and driving the transition toward a responsible circular economy.

Since its creation in 1996, the Center has played a crucial role in enhancing the competitiveness and adaptability of companies. It has done so by promoting research and development, establishing a laboratory dedicated to biodegradable packaging, expanding testing and analysis capabilities through accredited facilities, and offering training programs aligned with global technological and regulatory trends.
