The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) has announced the launch of the “Generation AI: Boosting 1000 Moroccan SMEs” program, in collaboration with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and LinkedIn. This initiative aims to assist 1,000 Moroccan small and medium-sized enterprises in integrating AI by providing exclusive access to specialized training.
Entrepreneurs participating in the program will receive LinkedIn learning licenses to help them develop essential AI skills and leverage its potential. They will have access to various training modules covering key topics such as innovation, sustainable development, and digital transformation. The licenses, which are individual and non-transferable, will remain valid until September 2025.
This initiative is timely, as digital transformation is becoming crucial for the competitiveness of Moroccan companies. A report from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) published on May 30 indicates that 27% of African business leaders surveyed have adopted generative AI, slightly below the global average of 32%. The study, which surveyed 380 African leaders across 105 countries, points to a relative lag in the continent’s adoption of this technology.
By enhancing entrepreneurs’ skills, “Generation AI” aims to address the increasing need for digital acceleration in Morocco’s economic landscape. With the support of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Morocco (AFEM) and Technopark, this program seeks to significantly impact the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Facilitating AI adoption and aiding SMEs in skill development, could foster better integration of emerging technologies, thereby enhancing the growth and competitiveness of Moroccan businesses in the digital era.
