In Angola, President João Lourenço is seeking a second term in the August 24th elections. He is pitted against Adalberto da Costa Júnior from a rival political affiliation.  Political watchers observe that it would it be a tough fight between the two.

In Angola, President João Lourenço is seeking a second term in the August 24th elections. He is pitted against Adalberto da Costa Júnior from a rival political affiliation.  Political watchers observe that it would be a tough fight between the two.

President  João Lourenço asserted in his election campaigns that he had created over 33,000 health posts to be filled.  The posts will be available when the new health units open. Angolans are going to the polls fifth time since 1992.

In his election rallies, the president promised investment, jobs, and a new commercial hub. He elaborated that the new city to be built near the airport could handle a lot of logistical cargo. It would also generate considerable income and jobs.  Former President José Eduardo dos Santos, who died recently,  ruled the country for 38 years.
