The L’Escale Marina and Spa in Seychelles has been adjudged as the Best Boutique Hotel at the International Travel Awards for 2022. The hotel is a stand-alone property and has an exquisite design. More than 95% of the employees of the hotel are Seychellois. The hotel, which has 25-rooms, was opened in 2021 on the main Island of Mahe. It was previously known as The Wharf Marina.   After renovations and a change of ownership, the establishment has 19 berthing facilities that can hold vessels up to 100m long including high-end superyachts. Tripadvisor, another rating agency, has also judged the hotel very high.

L’Escale Marina and Spa competed against others in the African and Indian Ocean regions. The International Travel Awards is the brainchild of Golden Tree Events, a company based in Dubai. It specialised in organising and managing award ceremonies. The company has been holding awards since 2018 to recognize companies for excellence in the tourism industry. Once an establishment has been nominated, the voting is done by clients, who had visited and availed of the services of the hotel.
