Telecom Egypt recently signed a cooperation agreement with Ericsson for upgrading the international portal of Egypt’s primary telephone company to create a state- of- the –art- technology platform.
The portal is being updated to enhance the quality of the Egyptian company’s landline and mobile services and to develop the basic network to meet customers’ future requirements.
The agreement was signed at a digital meeting between Telecom Egypt Managing Director and CEO Adel Hamed and President of Ericsson in the Middle East and Africa region Fadi Pharaon. The deal will help in  cutting down the total cost of ownership, providing the possibility of quickly and efficiently publishing virtual network functions and for launching models of corporate business and services.
Ericsson will provide licenses for narrow-scale software enhanced with IoT technology for the Egyptian company. The project to be undertaken in Cairo and Alexandria governorates will be completed by the end of this year.
