On Feb 20th, 2025, TÜV Rheinland renewed the contract with the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) for another three years. The contract authorizes TÜV Rheinland to issue Certificates of Conformity (CoC) for the Tanzanian Pre-shipment Verification of Conformity (PvoC) Program.
TÜV Rheinland Extends 3-Year PVoC Contract with Tanzania Bureau of Standards, Expanding to New Zones & Facilitating Market Entry and Global Trade
On Feb 20th, 2025, TÜV Rheinland renewed the contract with the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) for another three years. The contract authorizes TÜV Rheinland to issue Certificates of Conformity (CoC) for the Tanzanian Pre-shipment Verification of Conformity (PvoC) Program.
With this agreement, TBS expands the service scope for TÜV Rheinland to include the zones: the United Kingdom (Wales, Scotland, Ireland, England), and the Indian Subcontinent (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Myanmar).
The authorized body has further received re-confirmation for two zones that TÜV Rheinland has been serving for the past two years: United Arab Emirates and Far East (Japan, Korea South, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia).

The PVOC program has been in place since 2012 with its aim to protect consumers from substandard products and ensure the quality and safety of imported products in the Tanzanian market. It comes with a diversified list of regulated products such as automotive, chemical, electrical & electronics, food products, furniture, mechanical material, gas appliances, paper products, stationery, safety products, toys, sports equipment, and used products. As for the prohibited and exempted lists, they remain unchanged.
