Eight Chinese firms have signed agreements with Tanzanian local companies to supply food processing machines used for adding value to wheat flour, sesame, rice, groundnuts and flour meal.

The East African Commercial and Logistic Centre (EACLC) Director-General Ms Cathy Wang revealed that the Chinese companies have signed the deals to supply the machines during the 46th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) .

The machines, she said, had a production capacity of 20 tonnes per day and added that this year’s exhibition has highlighted the huge market potential of the agriculture sector. About 53 Shandong enterprises participated in DITF with products that attracted local customers.
