During the said period 1847 ships crossed the canal compared to 1620 ships in October 2020, with an increase of 14 percent.
The navigational reports recorded a significant increase during October 2021 in the number and tonnage of LNG carriers transiting the canal. About 84 tankers transited through the Canal compared to the transit of 46 tankers during October 2020, recording a growth of 82.6 percent. The head of the authority attributed the growth in the navigation in the canal to the flexible marketing policies adopted by the Suez Canal . The net tonnages of LNG carriers increased by 87.5 percent, during October 2021 amounting to 9.3 million tons, compared to 4.9 million tons during October 2020.
