The MoU will help maximize the Mediterranean database between Cairo and Athens and open the door for discussion on accelerating the construction of submarine cables between the two countries to serve the massive flow of data worldwide. Of late, Egypt is emerging as a center for data traffic among Asia, Africa, and Europe. Over 100 terabytes of data are transferred to Europe with more than 13 submarine cables.
