 Angolan President João Lourenço on a significant 48-hour state visit to France. The visit underscores the shared commitment between Angola and France to enhance political, economic, and cultural relations.

President Lourenço touched down at Orly Airport, where he was warmly received by France’s Minister of the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu, alongside Angola’s Foreign Minister, Tête António, and the Angolan Ambassador to France, Guilhermina Prata. Accompanying the President is First Lady Ana Dias Lourenço, further emphasizing the ceremonial importance of the visit.

The state visit’s official proceedings are set to begin at the historic National Palace of the Invalids, a Parisian landmark famously housing the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte. The President’s delegation will then proceed to the Élysée Palace, the official residence of French President Emmanuel Macron.
