The Baker Hughes Africa CEO praised Sonelgaz’s cooperation and coordination and expressed his interest in a broader partnership in various industrial fields. He also underlined Sonelgaz’s expertise and its key role in developing this partnership.

Sonelgaz CEO Mourad Adjal received Gian Luca Serquinio, Executive Director of the Africa region at US company Baker Hughes, in Florence, Italy. Both discussed the expansion of cooperation and partnership relations between the two parties, according to a press release from the state-owned group.

This meeting is one of the Sonelgaz CEO’s recent visits to Florence, where he attended the 25ᵉ annual meeting of Baker Hughes Company from February 2 to 4.

During discussions at Sonelgaz head office, Adjal stressed the importance of strengthening the partnership with Baker Hughes and accelerating the creation of a joint task force between Sonelgaz, Sonatrach and Baker Hughes. This team will be tasked with identifying areas for expanding the partnership and drawing up a clear roadmap for its implementation.

The Sonelgaz CEO also highlighted the existence of a suitable platform, represented by Algesco, and the three parties’ common desire to expand this cooperation. The aim is to strengthen national integration, reduce the import bill and develop a presence on the African market.
