The terse order said that the president decided to suspend Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble and stop his powers since he was linked with corruption. Both parties -president and prime minister -were engaged in a verbal war, accusing each other of holding up the country’s ongoing parliamentary elections.
The election, which began on November 1, was expected to be over on December 24. However, the reports say that only 24 out of 275 lawmakers had been elected by Saturday. The presidential statement further said that other members of the Council of Ministers would continue their duties in accordance with the laws of the country.
