Denmark, Greece, Pakistan, and Panama were the other countries inducted. These are the five newly elected non-permanent members for the 2025–26 term.
The Security Council on 2 January welcomed Somalia as new non-permanent member of the security council. The other countries inducted are Denmark, Greece, Pakistan, and Panama. The five newly elected non-permanent members for the 2025–26 term.
Speaking at the flag installation ceremony for the newly elected Members, Somalia’s Ambassador Abukar Dahir Osman said that as a proud member State of the African Union, the Arab League,, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, his country is profoundly conscious of the sacred trust placed on the nation and responsibility cast on it.

The five newly elected countries will join Algeria, Guyana, the Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone, and Slovenia as non-permanent members of the Council.
