Global tech company SLB unveiled its Africa Performance Center in Luanda, Angola, marking a significant step in advancing digital transformation, AI, and innovation in the energy industry across Africa. The 3,200-square-foot facility will serve as a collaborative hub for industry stakeholders, offering state-of-the-art solutions in oil and gas, new energy, and digital technologies.

Miguel Baptista, SLB’s Managing Director for Angola, Central, and East Africa, emphasised the center’s importance: “Through this Performance Center, we aim to collaborate closely with customers, leveraging our global expertise, diverse technology portfolio, and digital workflows to offer localized solutions.”

The Africa Performance Center will focus on capacity building, skills development, and empowering local talent, ensuring that industry solutions are created in Angola to support sustainable economic growth. AI-driven digital workflows, advanced analytics, and automation will improve efficiency, sustainability, and operational performance.

This initiative supports Angola’s broader goals of economic diversification and digital transformation. The World Economic Forum states that digital transformation in the oil and gas sector could unlock around $1.6 trillion in value by optimizing energy production, cutting costs, and enhancing efficiency.
