The Shell Nigeria Limited (SNG), said that the COVID-19 pandemic had negatively impacted the bottom lines of the company including that of Shell Nigeria Gas Limited. The shutdown by its 118 customers during the peak of lockdown forced the company to scale down operations.
The company welcomed the decision of the federal government to grant waivers to the energy sector. This has helped the company to stall a total collapse. Since March, staff of the company has been working from home. Only critical staff is required to ensure that the base and the facilities are safe.
As a humanitarian activity during the pandemic, Shell group donated testing machines, medical consumables and supported the building of isolation centers in Rivers, Bayelsa, Imo, Abia, Delta, Lagos and Ogun states.
