Seychelles’ President Wavel Ramkalawan is attending the 10th summit of the Organisation of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS) in Angola, which is underway in Luanda, the capital of Angola.
The 10th summit for the OACPS Heads of State and Government will last till 10th December. It has the theme ‘Three Continents, Three Oceans, a Common Destiny: Building a Resilient and Sustainable OACPS.’
From Angola, Ramkalawan will proceed to Washington DC. He is invited by U.S. President Joe Biden. The US will be hosting leaders from across the African continent for the US.-Africa Leaders’ Summit from December 13-15.

Over 50 heads of state and senior government officials from countries in Africa are expected to attend the US summit. The US will try to demonstrate the commitment of the Biden administration to the African continent. It will also provide a forum for new joint initiatives between the U.S. and countries in Africa. Ramkalawan will participate in various meetings addressing pertinent topics relevant to Seychelles.
