Opponents say Faye’s government has not shown enough ambition while supporters express confidence in his vision.
Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye presented his government’s progress report for the last year since he was in power and experts felt that it was mixed. Faye and his Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko promised a reset of the economy, a war on corruption, and food sovereignty.
Opponents say Faye’s government has not shown enough ambition while supporters express confidence in his vision.
Since his election, Faye has promised to reduce food inflation, conduct an audit of the previous government, and launch a plan to revitalise agriculture. But the opposition says it is not enough.
