As Africa continues its digital transformation, the demand for innovative digital identity solutions tailored to the continent has become inevitable.DID: UNCONF AFRICA 2025 to be held from February 18-20, 2025, will bring together experts to collaborate on African-led digital identity solutions. This year, Stellenbosch in the Western Cape will host the two-day workshop at the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS).

A first of its kind for the region, DID: UNCONF AFRICA is an internationally recognized event that fosters collaboration between local digital identity start-up DID and the Internet Identity Workshop (IIW). The event unites innovators, leaders, and activists from both local and international spheres to reshape the future of digital identity across the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The focus is on creating interoperable, inclusive solutions for digital identity in Africa. Launched in 2005, the IIW typically occurs biannually in Silicon Valley, USA.
