The RwandAir will soon start operating a five weekly flight between Kigali and Addis Ababa. This is a part of the bilateral service agreement signed by the two countries’ civil aviation authorities. Ethiopian Airlines is already operating two services daily connecting Addis Ababa and Kigali. Recently, Rwanda has conducted a market study and found that there is a need for deploying additional flights to meet passenger demand. The travelers are mostly business people. Already there is an arrangement between the two airlines whereby Ethiopian Airlines provide technical service to RwandaAir. The agreement signed between the two airlines in 2016 listed out areas where the two airlines can cooperate including stake acquisition. However, the agreement could not be implemented since some areas of disagreement have appeared. RwandaAir serves 25 international destinations and is having 12 aircrafts. The airline has plans to fly to Guanju, China and New York, US. Created in 2002, the airline is wholly owned by the Rwandan government.
