US-based global drone firm Auterion and the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) have signed an agreement to collaborate on developing Rwanda’s drone industry. The company offers a drone platform that powers drones with the software, payloads and seamless workflow integrations required for government drone operations. Auterion will establish a new knowledge hub in Rwanda. Auterion is expected to support Rwanda by rolling out services in areas like freight and postal cargo, health, and humanitarian aid.
Earlier, Zipline, the global leader in instant logistics and deliveries, had announced a new partnership with the Government of Rwanda. Zipline started its services in Rwanda about six years ago, by supplying blood, medicine, medical supplies, nutrition, and animal health products.

As per the new $61 million deal, it will undertake nearly 2 million instant deliveries and fly more than 200 million autonomous kilometers in Rwanda by 2029. Zipline’s delivery volume will grow threefold by adding new delivery sites in rural and urban locations and will also support financial, e-commerce and tourism industries. The partnership is expected to transform the country as the first in the world with capacity to make autonomous instant deliveries to its entire population.
