The Russian – Ethiopia – Djibouti Business Forum was held in Moscow recently. The event was organized by the Coordinating Committee for Economic Cooperation with Africa (AFROCOM) in collaboration with the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in a hybrid format.
Attended by representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and related Ministries of Ethiopia and Djibouti as well as ambassadors of Russia in Ethiopia and Djibouti, and Ethiopian Ambassador to Russia Alemayehu Tegenu, the forum provided an opportunity to strengthen economic cooperation between the two regions. It also discussed how the small scale businesses in Russia could be of help to their counterparts in the African region.
Presentations were made by representatives of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations of Ethiopia and Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Association. The next forum is scheduled to be held in February. In the meantime, AFROCOM is preparing itself to launch Russian Business Support Centers in both countries in the near future.
