 In a significant development, the Russian Central Bank added the Egyptian pound to the list of its foreign currencies. With this, Russia will officially set the value of Egyptian currency against the ruble.

Russia sets the ruble against nine currencies, which include now the Egyptian pound, the Emirati dirham, the Thai baht, and the Indonesian rupiah.

It added that other currencies like the Vietnamese dong, the Serbian dinar and the New Zealand dollar, the Georgian lari, and the Qatari riyal will be added.
