The final results are expected today.
The difference in this year’s election was that opposition parties were allowed to participate in the elections. Four years ago, opposition parties were effectively barred from participating in a legislative ballot due to a tightening of election rules. This led to the domination of Talon supporters. A good number of Talon’s key opponents have also been jailed or forced into exile.
