London-listed gold exploration and development firm Red Rock Resources has announced its plan to renew its bid for a mining license for its Migori gold project in Kenya. Red Rock chairman Andrew Bell in a statement revealed that the company was confident about the potential and prospects of the Mikei gold project.  To explore ways to accelerate its progress in 2022, the company plans to apply for a mining license and a mineral processing license. It is also planning to expand the existing prospects in Mikei in Migori.

Mr Bell added that his company was exploring a number of new or underexplored targets as well as planning to expand the existing resources and identify areas of higher grade within or close by. Planned drilling at Konguru is also a priority.

The company’s mining license was terminated in May 2015. But in 2018 the court case with the government was resolved and permits that were cancelled were re-issued. The company said it gained significant progress after it returned to the project a year ago and environmental impact assessments also were on on the next set of targets .
