Tadweer and Eureka Consulting, funded by USAID, held a meeting recently with the Taqarib project and in partnership with Benghazi Municipality and the Libyan Red Crescent Society (Benghazi Branch) to discuss recycling in the city of Benghazi

Tadweer and Eureka Consulting, funded by USAID, held a meeting recently with the Taqarib project and in partnership with the Benghazi Municipality and the Libyan Red Crescent Society (Benghazi Branch) to discuss recycling in the city of Benghazi.

The meeting discussed, among other things, the work plan and timetable of the project. The recycling project aims to provide a detailed study of waste in the city of Benghazi and the rate of waste consumption by citizens living in the city. The project also aims at achieving other goals such as stimulating waste reduction and instilling a culture of recycling.

Of late, efforts are underway to focus on recycling waste materials has picked up in Libya primarily to address environmental issues. There are biogas plants coming up in the country, which use waste materials to generate electricity to meet household needs.
