Radisson Blu, the upscale international hotel chain is on an
aggressive Africa expansion mode enhancing its presence in the
continent. Currently, the group owns almost 100 hotels in Africa with
more than 17,000 rooms in operation and under development across 32
countries.  The hotel’s business expansion plan in Africa is a key
initiative for Destination 2022, its five-year strategic operating
plan. By 2022, The group targets to reach 130 hotels with more than
23,000 rooms in Africa

Recently a $24.6 million worth property Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence
was opened in Kenya’s capital Nairobi near Arboretum Park. This is in
addition to its already existing   chains of outlets in Nairobi that
include Radisson Blu at Upperhill and Park Inn Radisson in Westlands.
The new facility boasts of being eco-friendly with nature-inspired
design details spread across the property and offering a lot of green
spaces. It claims to be the first 5-star in the city with an apiary on
the rooftop.

In East Africa, apart from Kenya, the Radisson Blu already has
properties in Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania.
