Qatar Airways starts its service to Abidjan

Qatar Airways has started its service to Abidjan. The three weekly flights, between Doha and Abidjan via Accra will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner with 22 seats in Business Class and 232 seats in Economy Class. The cargo capacity is up to 15 tonnes.

This will be the fourth new destination of Qatar Airways in Africa since the start of the pandemic.Prior to this, QA had launched Abuja in Nigeria; Accra in Ghana; and Luanda in Angola. Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, H E Akbar Al Baker, called the development as a significant step in the Airline’s African growth strategy and a testament to its commitment to the African continent. With the  launch  of the Abidjan service, QA now operates over 100 weekly flights to 25 destinations in 18 countries via their home and hub, Hamad International Airport.

It may be noted that with the launch of Abidjan Qatar Airways Cargo is expected to play a vital role in facilitating key exports from Côte d’Ivoire. It will be able to cater to increased demand for trade between Côte d’Ivoire and destinations on the Qatar Airways networks such as Paris, Beirut, and many points in the Indian subcontinent with cargo capacity of 15 tonnes on the aircraft per flight.
