The killing of seven Sudanese protesters and an army major impaired a potential headway on the formation of transition, authorities to run the country. The Alliance for Freedom and Change that leads the movement said that the violence was to “disturb the breakthrough in the negotiations” with army generals. However, It is also reported that a deal had been reached following a deadlock in negotiations between Protesters and Military of Sudan. Lieutenant General Shams al-Din Kabashi, spokesman of the transitional military council stated that they have agreed on the structure of the transitional authority and the system of governance in the transitional period. Taha Osman, a spokesman for the protest the movement also confirmed the development. The authorities broadly consist of the sovereign council, the cabinet, and the legislative body. The period of transition and the composition of the authorities are also being discussed. The generals want the transitional period to be for two years, while protesters want it for four years. Meanwhile the fallen President, Al-Bashir has been charged for the killing of protestors during anti-regime demonstrations as well as money laundering and financing terrorism. More than Ninety protestors were killed after demonstrations initially erupted in December.
