Pro-democracy protests in Eswatini spread

 The government recently ordered to shut schools “indefinitely with immediate effect”. This move was criticised by the pro-democracy protesters. Protests have been going on for several weeks at a stretch.

According to pro-democracy activists, the army and police have been deployed in schools this week, and several students have been with protesters in some of the worst unrest seen in the southern African country’s history. The internet was switched off for a few hours, which was later restored.
