Kenya’s private firms could get investments amounting to Sh81.4 billion ($700 million) over the next five years from British International Investment (BII). The BII was previously known as the CDC Group. BII has pledged investments worth US$7.5 billion (Sh873 billion) in Africa. Fund’s chief executive Nick O’Donohoe said Kenya has the potential of taking up 10 percent of the capital commitment, going by previous investment trends.
The British fund has rebranded from CDC as part of its new strategy to identify with the UK and shift towards climate finance and the digital space.
