Addressing the ‘Africa-Russia- The Revival of Traditions: International Interparty’ dialogue recently Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has called for a revival of Africa- Russia ties for mutual benefit.
Prime Minister of Ethiopia hailed the role of platforms such as Russia-Africa Summit and Economic Forum in fostering a lasting cooperation as well as overcoming obstacles. He underlined that such bilateral dialogue could contribute to the global peace and stability in highlighting the importance of the United Nations principle of non-inference in domestic affairs of sovereign countries.
The dialogue explored ways to revive the traditional ties between Russian and African countries. Prime Minister Abiy further noted the key role played by Russia in Africa’s struggle against colonization.He urged both the countries to review and renew the traditional partnership to support Africa in its fight against poverty, inequality, unemployment, and violence.
