The Port of Djen now operates continuously, seven days a week, in line with instructions from the highest authorities to optimise the activity of commercial port infrastructures. Acting CEO Messaoud Kidri explained that additional human and material resources have been mobilized, including the recruitment of 20 new workers and the forthcoming hiring of 10 forklift operators. A regular assessment will be carried out to adjust the workforce if necessary.
This new working method is designed to improve the port’s efficiency by reducing the time ships spend at quayside and in the harbour, which should lead to substantial savings and enhance the port’s attractiveness.
The port of Mostaganem has also adopted the continuous working system following the acquisition of new equipment, including scanners designed to optimize its performance. The wilaya authorities spent an inspection visit to ensure the effective implementation of this reform.
